i am on bedrest until 34 weeks, because of a incomplete cervix. My doctor has said that a baby born after 34 weeks is in the clear. Granted you want the baby to go the full 40 weeks. But if delievered early, it won't be a problem.

Each pregnancy is unique. I had my oldest son at 34 weeks. He was 4lbs. 5 oz. He was flown to a nicu (prolapsed cord- they were unsure of how long he was without oxygen). He had a little jaundice and sleep apnea the first year. But overall no permanent complications.
He is now a very healthy, active 11 year old. He has a very strong immune system. My younger son was born full term and was 8 lbs. 5 oz. You would never be able to look at the two and guess who was the preemie.
However, since you never know exactly how they are affected until birth, keep him in there as long as you can - Not that you can always have much control over it!

Yes, it is too early. Do your research though. Demerol and albuterol can hurt the baby. I was given these during my 1st labor and my son had several complications when before the meds he was fine. I had to go home and leave him in the NICU for 6 days. All because I wanted to try to hold off on my epidural. TRUST me you do NOT want to go through that. I almost died having to leave without him. I started early labor with him a 37 wks and my doctor gave me breathine. Check into it. It's harmless. Stay in bed and rest. Try to hold off till at least in your 37th week. At this stage the lungs are not totally mature yet. Hold off as long as you can. Just so you know though, if your baby is born now the chances are high he/she will be healthy. God Bless. Let us know how it turns out!! You're in my prayers.

it somewhat relies upon on the toddler...I had my daughter at 33 weeks and he or she weighed 2 a million/2 pounds. She had to stay interior the well being facility for the 1st month of her existence until she won 4 pounds. She became additionally in an incubator for 3 weeks she had a feeding tube down her throat and wires monitoring her in any respect situations...it became definetly very annoying on her being so little...in addition they dont make outfits for a 4 pound toddler. Now she is a 300 and sixty 5 days previous and intensely healthy even weighs a whooping 25 pounds. She caught up however the 1st few months have been terrible. additionally preemies are at extreme risk for rsv in the time of the iciness months. My daughter have been given it regardless of the photos and he or she ended up interior the well being facility for yet another week. basically becareful having one early it isnt continuously large. And the lungs r stepped forward.

35 weeks is a bit early. The longer the baby stays in the better. It's best to wait until at least 37 weeks.
However, given the advances in neonatal care there are fewer risks then are present for a child being born at 32 to 34 weeks gestation.

It depends on the baby. Some babies born at 35 weeks do fine, others have to go to the NICU (Neonatal Intensive Care) because they were not ready yet.
I have a friend whose baby came at 35 weeks, and he's 4 months old and doing great now. Keep that baby in as long as you can! Every day makes a difference at this stage. I know it's hard, but try to stay strong for your baby's sake!

Not really my girlfriend just had a baby about a month ago and she had hers during the baby shower which was a month before the baby was due. He was 6 lbs and 1ounce. He was just fine. If the baby is ready then he will come. The only reason the they are giving you medicine is because they are being safe. So you will be fine if you should go early.

I had my twin girls at 34 weeks. They are now 15 years old. Yes, they spent a little time in the ICU to be sure, but they are very healthy. It is not too early these days. Don't worry.

It all depends on your body and the development of the baby. I had my daughter at 35 weeks and she was fine. 7lbs. 5oz. and no health problems. She was actually trying to come earlier than that but my doc didn't recommend it. Instead he put me on bed rest and I had to take these pills to speed up the growth of the baby.
