I think that they were asking if it is okay to steal from the store. If you are getting an interview despite your answer to the question i would still go, you still have a chance. If they don't want you because of that, they are missing out not you and you don't need to work for someone that will do that to you. Unfortunately some of those kind of questions are confusing. I would definately expIain your answer to them at your interview, I guess that expaining your logic would go something along the lines of you meant take as in accept a cash, gift card or samples from a manager or co worker. I don't think you should have any problem, they aren't automatically going to label you a thief. Good Luck

You may as well forget that job!
You never answer a qustion like that yes. It should have been NO, now they will think that you would just let someone or yourself take money or merchandise.
You could try explaining it if you go for the interview, it really can't hurt at this point.
A lot of the companies ask those type of questions now, it is all part of their own little psych tests.
Good Luck on that one!

If you're scheduled for an interview, just explain that there might be a misconception about one of your answers and explain. If the potential employer is fair, he/she will listen and evaluate you based on many things. You also might check and see if you can further explain that answer before you interview. Good luck!

I can't believe you answered that way and I can't believe they called you back. Always say no to that question. The only way you can explain that is to explain that you've been given freebies before. Good luck.

Don't even bother going for that interview if you already gave that answer. They already think you are a shop lifter waiting for the chance to steal from them.

Good luck with your interview. I would only mention it if they questioned you about it. If they are interested in you they will ask to see if you made a mistake or not.

Don't expect to get any pity here... And why would we offer help? It is not our fault that you answered yes to that, the key word is TAKE (meaning shop lift)...

The keyword was definitely "take". You told them you would steal from them. You may want to call them up to see when/if you can do the application again.

They probably have the word "shoplifter" written on the top of your application. Good luck with that.
