The entire world, not just America, will inevitably become more secular. We are more rational than previous generations and less likely to believe something illogical or contradictory because we are told we should believe it.
When people see on their TVs every night that innocent people are being slaughtered by so-called religious people for being the wrong religion, it has to call into question how the murderers could think God was telling them to do such despicable things. Which quickly leads to the questioning of the existence of God. If religion is the source os so much misery in the world, which it does seem to be, I believe we are better off without it.

Secular is derived from the Latin word saeculum, meaning one generation or century. A secular occurrence is something which happens approximately once every one hundred years.
The term secular has taken on a variety of meanings over the years. It is mainly used to describe distancing from, or a lack of, religion.
I believe there is a segment of American society that is become more spiritual as wars and rumors of wars continue. In time everything balances out. It swings both ways, and one has to remember that differences in religion is what is causing most of the major disagreements (that and money).
Whether or not technology has anything to do with it I don't know. But society has been known to swing back and forth on the issue of religion versus faith versus secularity.

How much more secular can it get? The only religion that is not mocked or condescended to is Islam - and that's only because the media wants to sell its product internationally and doesn't want to offend a large market.
Secularism will continue to grow as the world's educational systems continue to crumble into psychobabble nonsense.

America will grow more secular with the ACLU attempting to remove any religious symbols, etc from everything from monuments to money. Our Replubic was based on Christian beliefs. They are slowly being eroded. After a while, people become immune or desensitized to this erosion and accept it as "just things happening" or progress.

That's a good question because I see ppl definitely favoring either CNN, FOX, or some other news organization. Some definitely emerge as being supporters of a political party, (such as FOX).
People need to realize that they need to get news not from just one source but from others such as the internet, blogs, etc..
