Check with your doctor...there are so many different types of prenatal vitamins out there you should be able to find some that work for you. Prenatal provide a better balance of vitamins, etc that a pregnant woman needs and would not get from children's vitamins.

you can, but prenatal vitamins were created right for the purpose, they have the right proportion of all supplements your body needs when you're pregnant, while regular vitamins might not have that. For example, most of them lack folid acid, which is vital for your baby's development; or the other thing for example, overdose of vitamin A could be harmful, on the other hand. So, I would go with prenatal vitamins, for sure. If you feel nauseous, try to experiment to take them with food, or without, morning or evening. Sometimes, when you take them on an empty stomach, it makes you nauseous. Or it could be the opposite case with you.

Since prenatals are obviously the best, try taking them before bed. My friend had morningsickness and nausea bad. The prenatals made it a lot worse. She took them before bed and it stopped affecting her. Don't change anything though without talking to your doctor. God Bless.
PS You're not stupid. Some people just don't get it when they haven't been through it.

Have you tried prenate-GT? It is a prenatal vitamin that is gel coated. It goes down easy, no smell or taste. And was really easy for me.. Like vitamin gold!

Yes, but make sure your OB knows. Flintstones don't have as much iron as you will need so they will want to moniter you closely for anemia! I had to take Flintstones because I could not keep down my prenatals but I did become anemic... Good luck hon!

I have heard of women taking flintstones for this, but you should consult your doctor before changing any medications or vitamins, just to be sure.

You are probably right about the nausea. You can safely take flinstones as a replacement but instead of one pill like you would give a child take two. I found that it helped with the nausea if I took one in the am and one in the pm

Absolutely! Make sure that you're taking one with iron - and take two.
I never liked to take big pills, and always found the prenatal ones hard to swallow. My OB has told me to buy Flinstones instead - for over 13 years!
