We just moved into a place that had pet odor in the carpets. They had already been commercially cleaned, but it still stunk. I used Arm & Hammer Carpet & Room Pet Fresh Odor Eliminator. It's $1.50-$2.00 a box at Walmart or Family Dollar. I sprinkled it on the carpet, waited 15 mins and then vacuumed. I did this every time I vacuumed for the first week and now the smells are gone! I used 1 and a half boxes in the process, so it's a pretty cheap fix. Good luck

Use a cloth dampened with 1 part white vinegar to 3 parts water. This will remove the odor. When carpet is dry, sprinkle some baking soda on the area. This will neutralize the carpet as well. Vacuum the area a few hours later.

Blot the area with a white paper towel or cloth, until the maximum amount of liquid is soaked up. Avoid rubbing or the stain will spread. Then, apply a mixture of water and vinegar, in equal proportion, and let it sit for a few minutes. Next, use a clean towel to soak up the mixture, and cover the area with a cloth until dry. If the odor still remains, sprinkle a little baking soda over the area and vacuum after a few hours.

Sprinkle baking soda on your carpet and let it set for about twenty minutes and then vacuum it up. Baking soda absorbs and eliminates odors. If you leave it on long enough to work down into the carpet a bit, it will work.

To reduce pet odor from carpeting, dilute a cup of vinegar with a cup of room-temperature water. Apply and blot with a clean rag. It does help!

tyr to use something specifically for pet odors, otherwise they will continue to keep going in that area, because regular cleaners dont get the smell completely out. you can check at the pet store they have sprays specific for cat vs. dog, since cat urine is stronger in scent, also woolite makes a carpet cleaner for pet odors which is a little cheaper then those at the pet store.

Rent or buy a carpet shampooer and buy the cleaner that is for pet stains and odor.

1.Rip out the damaged under pad 2. clean and disinfect flooring 3. piece in new under pad. 4. clean the back side of the carpet where stained. 5.Re lay carpet,clean and disinfect. Odour gone.
