My younger son was a scheduled c-section- so no issue there.
BUT- with my oldest son- I was in my 34th week. I was driving down the street and --- voila! I seriously thought I peed my pants. But, it just kept coming out, so I guessed my water broke (it was my 1st pregnancy so that will freak you out!) I almost ran off the road! Fortunately I was just a couple blocks away from our local hospital. So, I pulled on in the parking lot and walked in there in my soaked sweatpants and they took care of the rest!

With my first, I was asleep in bed at 1am, and I felt/heard a pop (not sure which). All I know is that it woke me up enough to run to the bathroom and hop into the shower right as the gush of water started. Thank goodness for quick reflexes or my bed would have been soaked! Unfortunately, contractions didn't start on their own, and I had to be induced.
With my second, I had pre-eclampsia, so I had to go to the hospital to be induced. After I quit making progress at 3-4cm after 9 hours of pitocin, my midwife broke my water.

In the birth tub at the hospital, about 30 seconds before my baby was born. Did you know in some cultures being born in an intact bag of waters was a sign of extremely good luck? Were your babies born in the caul or did the doctor/midwife break it?

This a wierd but true story.
My sister inlaw was afraid because there was bad hurricane coming and the power went out. the house became very hot and her and her husband couldn't sleep in there bedroom upstairs so they blew up an air mattress and slept downstairs in the living room. She went to the bathroom but kept walking into things. after her husband teased her to make her laugh she announced that her water had broken. He said that her water didn't brake that she had peed on herself but she started having contraction about a hour later.

both times that my water broke, i was in the bed and had been induced. my first baby, i had the epidrurl, and felt only the water coming out. My second baby, i had no pain medication because i was trying to be a trooper and have her naturaly and my water broke and all hell broke loose. the pain was worse and the contractions faster. i thought i had lost my mind. bet i had that pain medicine then huh?
