It certainly can cause pressure in the brain, which can result in a stroke. The results of a stroke can cause you to be paralyzed and can cause problems with speech, and even death. If you or someone you know needs to be treated for high blood pressure, it's very important to seek medical attention immediately.
You've added your actual blood pressure since I first answered your question and after seeing the results I am recommending that you go to your nearest Emergency Room so that you can be evaluated as soon as possible.
A typical blood pressure reading is 120/80 give or take a few points, however, yours is excessively high. Please don't delay in getting treatment.

i hsve high blood pressure and the only side effects i have noticed is a slight heasache im not sure if there any other side effects but i do know that hypertension is called the silent killer and there is a good reason for it i would suggest that you get back on your medicine as soon as possible and take it from someone who has had a stroke it is not an easy thing to deal with. im having knee replacement surgery in the near future and i had to delay it for ay least two weeks since my blood pressure was too high when this happens it is very dangerous and can be life threatening especially with anasethsia

yes i have had high bp for about 4 years now, well i've been taking tablets for it for 4 years, its quite under control now, with the tablets and diet, i had to try a low salt diet at first but that didnt do the trick so i was prescribed tablets, and exercise is good 4 lowering bp half an hour exercise 3 times a week, i buy low salt bacon, i dont put salt in any cooking, everything i buy i buy the low salt alternative if there is one, i even buy reduced salt gravy granuals you may need medication if you cant get it down by exercise and diet good luck

High blood pressure is very dangerous -- you need to be assessed by a medical doctor who will ascertain if you indeed have high bp and then give you proper medication for it or whatever is causing that pressure feeling in your head. It could very well be entirely something else. Best get yourself checked out as oon as possible.

Yes it could. My husband has had a small stroke due to his blood pressure being to high, he is now on medication to control it. He complained of his head feeling as though it was being crushed, but, this was to the blood pressure. Please get checked out by the doctor, it is better to be safe than sorry.

Yes. I've had hypertension for several years now, and have to take 2 different types of medication every day, which actually do control it. See your GP as a matter of urgency, this can be life-threatening if left un-checked.
Best wishes

High blood pressure can be very dangerous if left untreated. Yes, it could cause you to feel pressure in your head. It could also cause serious conditions like a stroke, or TIA. Please see your doc ASAP and get some treatment before something like that (or worse) happens to you.

I don't know but you really need to get some treatment for your high blood pressure, go to your doctor, you will normally need to take a pill a day. Left untreated you could get a stroke.
