let an experienced mechanic do it for you, preferably a friend, whom you can ask the whats , whys and hows while watching him tuning up your mazda.if its an efi engine, you'll do nothing more than changing the plugs, changing the oil and cleaning the air filter.

Get a repair manual for your vehicle and read it cover to cover. If you are not mechanically inclined then it is something that you should leave to a mechanic. Typically a tuneup requires the changing of spark plugs, distributor cap and rotor. Sometimes it is necessary to replace the spark plug wires too. Again, if you are not mechanically inclined you run the risk of doing more damage in the process because spark plugs can be tricky to the untrained hand. If you do not know what you are doing, you run the risk of cross threading the plugs or stripping them altogether which will require very expensive repairs. If you replace the plug wires, get familiar with the firing order listed in the repair manual. Also use blank labels to tag the wires and the plugs and the connections on the distributor cap. This way you can be certain not to get the firing order mixed up when reinstalling the parts.

buy new distributor cap rotor and plug wires and plugs from Mazda none other will fit right take the parts man out and show him your car if it is a V-6 the plug wires have to be the right length. Four cyl engine not a problem they will know there is only one set. Original NGK plugs and Mazda tune up parts work better and fit!

you,ll probably need new plug wires as well as new spark plugs,,also do a oil change on it,,change the air filter,,,as well as the fuel filter,,check all the fluids in it,,and top off anything that is low,,i own a repair shop,,and this is the usual stuff you change,,you may need to check the timing on it,,if you have a timing light,,also check the timing belt,,and any other belts, it has on it for sign,s of wear and tear on them,,this should cover a basic tune-up for it,,for now,,there will be more to do to winterize it,,but this can be done later,,good luck with it.,,also if it has a distributor cap,,i would replace it,,and the rotor button i hope this help,s.

Yes do it all youself a save big money. Change spark plugs , wires, fuel and air filter, trans filter, oil and filter, pcv valve. It will be very easy if its a 4cyl. A 6cyl want be bad but spark plugs maybe hard to reach you will need a flex head ratchet and a extension I think 5/8 spark plug socket will do the job. Give the wires a twist before pulling them off. Take your time this will be fun.

Well, change the spark plugs, and wires, and also cap and rotor(if equipped with such) Spark plug recomendations are platinum. Also replace air filter if needed. May want to think about a fuel filter as well. Then of course an oil change. Good luck.
