The cartoon character Beavis (from Beavis and Butt-Head) wears a shirt with the Metallica logo on it; Butt-Head wears a shirt with an AC/DC logo. Metallica videos were featured several times on the show. When Butt-Head criticized the band and the videos, Beavis went ballistic and said he would kick Butt-Head's *** if he insulted Metallica again. Metallica was incidentally one of the few bands the show did not completely roast with Beavis proclaiming that Metallica ruled.

How did you come up with the original concept for Beavis and Butt-head?
I was trying to draw a guy I went to high school with from memory. I ended up drawing Butt-head's profile. It didn't look like the guy, but it started to look like something else and I just went with it. As for the voice, I had braces in high school and it makes you kind of buck-toothed [he pulls up his lips to demonstrate]. I was a pretty funny-looking kid... still am. When I was doing the voice, I kept in mind the way you talk when you're wearing braces. The wires usually scrape the side of your cheeks — [he mumbles in Butt-head's voice] "Uh, Beavis, that was cooool." Beavis was actually an attempt to draw the same guy.

At the time 'Beavis & Butt-head' came out, Jason still had long hair. Maybe Beavis inspired Jason to cut his hair.

have you seen how dumb jason newsted looks on that lame show supernova?
he should have kept the long hair it hid those big ears and all the tacky "rock n roll" get ups he wears now.
