I'm a Canadian, so feel qualified to answer the question.
Canada is always "downwind" of the USA. Our population is 10% of that of America.
Sometimes (usually) it's a good wind, sometimes it's not. We have much to thank for Yankee know-how, which inevitably rubs off on us up here.
Generally, Canadians think Americans have done themselves a disservice by electing Bush. You could have done much better than him. You deserve better than him.
The White House has yet to come to terms with Canada's refusal to join the USA in the invasion of Iraq. But, the next election is just around the corner....
