im curious to see what people think about it...
what if the Devil came to you an gave you 2 options:
A) you can save your life, your familie´s life, and your friends´ life...
B) you can save the lives of 5.500.000.000 people (chosen randomly around the globe)
what would you do?
i know im a monster for saying that... but i wouldn´t think twice, id definitely choose the first option... the way I see it, my life is very important for me...this MAY BE my only/last shot... i can fool myself into thinking that im altruist and blablabla(which I actually think I am), but the bottom line is, when faced with any life-threat situation, I´d do almost anything to save my life, maybe ANYTHING
I´ve always been careful when talking to someone about it... the few people i´ve talked about it turned out to think exactly like I do, which didn´t surprise me AT ALL
rest assure you ain´t going to jail if you choose the first option, haha

haha, im very surprise to read things like "i don´t trust the devil, so I wouldn´t take any option"...
i don´t think they are joking at all
it´s just a THOUGHT EXPERIMENT, i know the devil doesn´t exist, any sane person knows that too
but It was very nice to see some people being totally honest about it, saying "option 1", without any kind of justifications, that´s the way to go!!! why the heck should we hide our thoughts/feelings? doesn´t make sense(unless you live in burma, hehe)

c´mon!! if i was to interpret every sentence/word in my way, i´d never be able to have a conversation with anybody.... we gotta learn to sense what the other wants to say when he says something... that´s just the basics of communication

I wouldn't make a deal with the Devil at all. Heaven is open to anyone who believes. What make you think the Devil would be telling the truth?

I would not have to make a decision between A and B.
1). I will not, now or ever make deals with the devil. I sell my soul to noone.
2). The devil wouldn't even have a chance to ask me this question because upon first sight of him, I would invoke the name of the Lord, to have the devil banished from my presence.
3.) The result would be that ALL people, in both A and B would continue to be safe.

I know this is selfish of me but here it is...I would sacrifice my life for the randomly chosen people because I am secure in what I believe I have in store for me after my body dies, however, my son has not lived enough of his life on this earth yet. I could not, nor would I ever, willingly sacrifice my son for anyone else no matter what the numbers. I know it is a flaw to feel this way but I simply would never sacrifice my son for anyone or any reason. You want me, you can have me, but you can't have him!
P.S. Putting personal problem aside that I don't dance with the Devil...i.e. I would never deal with Satan as he can't be trusted. More than likely the people he would randomly choose would all be his followers. I put my faith in Heavenly Father.

Since there is apparently NOT 5.something billion people on Earth, I choose #2. That way I can save everybody... family and self included. However, if there WAS 5.more-than-something people on Earth, I would choose #1.

"What if I DON'T WANT TO choose one of those choices, eh fella? And why should I be listening to you, anyway!?!? It isn't like you have any more power since God kicked you out of heaven for being obnoxious and all that!!! So why don't you stop taking revenge on us humans and tantalizing us with your terribly terrifying temptations and go back to HELL!!!"
That's what I would say to him. If he really IS the Devil, then he'd probably smite me with a flaming sword or something, but if anything, I'd offer my life and only my life rather than the lives of everyone else I love. TO SACRIFICE THE LIVES OF MILLIONS OF OTHERS FOR YOUR OWN LIFE and personal benefit IS NO DIFFERENT THAN WHAT THE DEVIL WOULD DO HIMSELF!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It's also arrogant and unbelievably selfish.

totally save your own family. what if the other people are scum bags? lol. Maybe the other people would be the best of the best.The fact is that survival instincts are strong. You want to perpetuate your genes( 0.5 of which are present in your brothers and sisters and children). It's an interesting concept. You should look up Altruistic traits ( specifically in the biological sense) and see what you find. .

Ok, on the funner side...If the Devil were ever to come to me & asks me to choose from these three options...I would trick the Devil into trading your life and sparing the rest of us here & thereby leave him (And you) clueless...=P
But, on a serious note...while it would be very painful for me to let go of my friends...I would rather choose my Family's life over my life and my friend's lives and all the 5. somthing's lives (INCLUDING YOURS)...
