PLUTO is now considered as one of the dwarf planets in our Solar System (along with Ceres and Xena).. Before it was considered among the planets of the Solar System but recent study made scientists to announce that it will be dropped from the roster..

"Pluto, a planet since 1930, got the boot because it didn't meet the new rules, which say a planet not only must orbit the sun and be large enough to assume a nearly round shape, but must "clear the neighborhood around its orbit." That disqualifies Pluto, whose oblong orbit overlaps Neptune's, downsizing the solar system to eight planets from the traditional nine."

Your question negates any need to offer an answer based on Brown's opinion. Whether Pluto is a dwarf planet, or a planet like Mars or Saturn, IT ALREADY EXISTS!!! Your question makes no sense! Pluto cannot BE anything, unless it edxists, regardless of what it is called! GET IT??

I heard on the news this morning that Pluto is no longer a planet. A commitee of scientists discovered that it is too small to be a real planet and that it's atmosphere is too small, or something like that. It's called a dwarf planet now. So I guess it's no longer included in the 9 planets in our solar system. Kinda sad, really.

The most recent opinion, scientifically speaking, on Pluto being a planet or not is that it isn't. Why not? Maybe because it is easier to catalogue something as not existing if you don't have the possibility of studying it. Anyway, who cares about it being a planet when we can't be sure of having discovered all about our own planet?
