The US is not dependent on Russian oil. The article states this. Russia won't have a problem because there is a market for oil. The cost of producing it requires that you sell it and Russia will be dependent on the the cash flow, much like OPEC now with the US. Russia nor OPEC can afford to embargo very long.

The US could pull a great power play if they would innovate and come up with an alternative that they produce for themselves, but they haven't over the last 30-40 years since the initial gas crisis! It disgusts me!
