It is not that we don't want to be understood, it is the fact we don't understand you all. Remember too that a lot of us, and this is a good thing in the long run, believe that we must exert control over our emotions lest another ie. women, gain control over us. The best thing you can do is ask if there is anything you can do? If he says no, then kiss him and tell him you love him.

Because guy's aren't real men. A man would be able to understand what he is going through and be able to open up if he had concerns or questions. Too many males are raised to think that it's the "manly" thing to keep feelings inside or to hide a question about something. My experience with the world has proven all too often that very few can live like that. I would take that as a warning sign and not get into a relationship with any boy or guy that is that way.

There are two main reasons. One is guy specific, the other with people who aren't terribly good at relationships.
1) Guys don't like to complain because it makes them feel vulnerable. Complaining, or talking about something that is bothering them, goes against the "strong silent type", which, in the end, all women find attractive. We know women don't like whinny guys, so we never want to complain.
2) We don't talk about other things because young women (and most guys) are unable to simply listen and comfort. Young women and most guys want to hear the problem and then SOLVE it. The things that bother guys are often things that can't be changed or fixed. So, having someone listen who always wants to solve things is a pain, because the issue becomes the woman feeling bad that "you're not letting me solve this for you" rather than the original issue of the guy feeling "I feel bad about this hopeless situation."
Let him know he's still strong. "This must be bothering you, because usually you don't complain about anything."
Let him know he doesn't need to fix things like he's on some stupid Oprah program: "That sucks, I can see why you feel bad. I hate the way some things can't be changed."

Men like to work out problems themselves in their own mind without interference. Self-Reliance. Don't try to understand, because we don't understand either while we are still trying to figure things out. May take years. Give me some space!

First of all, we hate drama, and unlike women, sometimes we like to be left alone and deal with our own issues

because we dont want to "talk about it" because women will get indignant and defensive, it just turns into something worse then. women are predujiced ie; women think men always wrong . so its useless to "talk about it"

my husband does this all of the time....and he just doesn't want to argue. This is his way of not saying there is something wrong and avoiding the fight. When he calms down he realizes that it was stupid to even get upset
