The amount of money this nation would save would be astronomical if we legalized IT. It being a lot of things. Drugs in general= tax money not spent on jails and DEA, border patrol, and other rediculous "War on Drugs" crap. Plus the industry created bu growing and cultivating. Violent crimes in nations with legal drugs are massivley lower, theories say because people don't have to scrounge for their habits. IT being prostitution, is the worlds oldest proffesion for a reason. If privacy laws say you can't tell a woman what to do with her body (Roe v Wade) then why can we tell them they can't sell it? We sell sperm and eggs right? IT can be a variety of things so yes we should.

yes it should be legalized.
Alcohol has been proven to not have the same cancer causing effects as cigarettes. They are unable to confirm that marijuana increases your risk for cancer. Therefore, it's safer than cigarettes. Hundreds of thousands of people die each year from lung cancer caused by cigarettes. Little to none are from marijuana.
Everyone knows that marijuana is safer than alcohol. No matter how much mary jane you smoke it will not impair you like alcohol does. Alcohol will physically disable you from doing anything, yet it is still legal. Tens of thousands of deaths are recorded each year from Alcohol. Little to none are from marijuana.
If marijuana were legalized it would free up room in the jails and make room for the people who should be there. The jails are overly capacitated as it is especially since all the immigration.
Law enforcement could concentrate on things that are more dangerous such as drunk drivers, cocaine, crack, heoroin. Things that are proven to be much much more dangerous and responsible of many deaths each year.
Marijuana is a peaceful drug. Go to a concert where there is a bunch of alcohol and you will have fights and violence. Go to a hippie concert where there's mostly just marijuana smoking and everyone is calm, peaceful and friendly. Little to no violence.\
Medical benefits from marijuana are great. It can be used for many different medical purposes.
The resin from marijuana is the most sticky thing in the world and can be used for glue and other things.
It produces some of the strongest material which can be used for rope, clothing and other useful things (which it already is in some places). There are so many benefits to it. But because one person "I smoked a joint..... then killed my parents", it ruined it for all of us.
Bottom line is, marijuana is much safer than many of the drugs in this world, even some of the LEGAL ones. The only reason it is not legal is because the government can not make as much money from it if it were LEGAL.
I will close with this quote from the Bible,
God said, "Behold, I have given you every herb bearing seed which is upon the face of all the earth.…To you it will be for meat." … And God saw everything that he had made, and, behold, it was very good. (Genesis 1:29-31)

Yes, we should. Prohibition doesn't work and never has worked. If it was legalized then it could be taxed and become a money earner to support schools, health care, etc. Society would make money on it rather than having the criminals make money on it as things are now. If we legalize it, we no longer make criminals of those who use it for all kinds of reasons, including treatment of cancer pain and nausea.
Just my thoughts ....

the federal government doesn't have the authority to ban its production or use, only its sale under the commerce clause
so why do we have to hide under a bridge to smoke it?
