On a 2 bed semi in south yorkshire? Just trying to work out finances on the property i want to buy. Its £124950, no garage, nice area.

That depends on postcode, what you do and the value of the contents os your house.

You need to add the value of the rebuilding of the property ( i.e. it falls down and has to be completely built again) plus the value of your contents, inc jewellery etc. Add the risk value of the area, i.e. crime, subsidence etc. and divide by 12! Far easier to work out the value of contents, phone insurance companies and they will work out the rest.

Estimates are free. Call up some agencies and compare. There are TONS of variables-- like how far away the nearest hydrant/fire house is, if you have sprinklers, deadbolts, security system, a dog, a trampoline, the exact market price of the house...etc.

Rather than everyone giving wild guesses why don't you just get a quote from an insurance company

Go off this site, and find one that will answer your question. Start with Direct Line, then Tesco, they are both good.

Well.... now this might be blue sky thinking here... but why don't you try an insurance company for a quote?

it does vary hugely by region.

I've just renewed mine with Barclays, and it was £24 a month (interest free instalments)

depends what it is built out of. will cost less than a terrace house around £200.00
