He's a guy. Especially because he seems to be present in lots of yaoi fan works ;)

Deidara is a guy. Listen to his voice in the Japanese version...he definitely sounds male. And besides...numerous translations of the manga were read, and all of them said that Deidara is a guy. It's true...even though some people still think of him as female. But he is a guy.

Due to the Japanese language's sparse use of third person pronouns, translators have to use their own ideas of Deidara's gender to make sentences flow smoothly. This has caused a lot of confusion, since both "he" and "she" are used to refer to Deidara. However, Deidara speaks of himself using male pronouns.
