Beautiful choice. I couldn't pick a better one myself.

Shop around for prices. Don't go with the fist thing that comes your way. You can build a similar ring online and compare prices. If you are buying from a jeweler you can negotiate the price.

This are some online sites where you can build a ring like it and do a price comparison:

www.bluenile.com
www.amazon.com
www.ice.com

Or go to the mall and go to Zales.

Congratulations and good luck. Your gf is going to LOVE the ring. You have good taste.

Is there a reason you feel compelled to spend 5K on a ring? Couldn't that money be better put toward a downpayment on a house? Keep in mind, if you turn around and break up, the ring will be worth about 1/3 - 1/4 that amount on resale. It sounds like a lovely ring and I'm sure your fiance will be delighted with it, but first off, make certain it's something you can easily afford to do, and that you're aware a diamond is not an investment.

Sounds like a good deal. Unless you have $5,000 cash, do not buy a ring that costs that much. Please do not finance a wedding ring. You don't want to start out your marriage in debt. It makes absolutely no sense. Spend the money on the honeymoon or on a down payment for a house.

Yes.

You could also try Ebay. My fiance bought the setting I liked without the stone and then a ring just for the stone. A jewler put it together for under $100. The set is worth triple what he paid.
