UPS postage from Thailand to USA?

How come when I calculate the postage on a 50 pound package from Thailand on UPS it keeps coming up as in the thousands of dollars? When I do it from china it is only in the hundreds of dollars. What am I doing wrong? Is it really that expensive to ship from Thailand?

Are you paying as a reciever it will be more expensive. Better send the money down and let someone pay it as sender, then its more cheap.
