You need to switch it up gradually. Start by replacing one meal a day with a bottle. If the young one won't take to it right away keep introducing it until it's natural. Then gradually start replacing all meals with the bottle. The best way to do it would be with breast milk bottles and then latre switching to formula or milk as the case may be.

Try using a breast pump and putting a bottle first that has a nipple similar to a mother's breast. This way your not abruptly cutting your child off from something they are accustomed to. Next transition your child to a sippy cup especially since most pediatricians state a child should be off the bottle by a year old.

Just keep in mind to use gradual steps when trying to get your baby to drink from a bottle instead of breastfeeding.

im not sure because i did it at 6 months but start today because the older he gets the harder it will be.cold turkey worked for my son because they are so young he will forget about breastfeeding within a few days.good luck
