Honestly, I have no clue. We continually fail and continue to believe that it is somehow our duty to push our beliefs on others all over the world....we just don't learn from our mistakes do we?

There was an imperial period where the US was acquiring islands in different ways, and I believe it was McKinley that said he wanted to Christianize the Philippines. This is the exception rather than the rule in American history.

We were founded as a Christian nation, and we need to continue that mission.
