The car. This day and age, who can afford to drive an SUV? Plus the car has more horses.

The ideal set up would be to have the newer car & an older knock around 4x4 for huntin, fishin & muddin. That' s the way we do it in the SOUTH! But if I had to choose I'd say the car, my buddy has a 4x4 for fun stuff! If we need to go somewhere we go in my car. If we want to raise a little hell we go in the 4x4 (Chevy Truck of course)!

i like the SUV 'cause i have one and i like it a lot. i enjoy the fact that I'm high up and see above most compact car. plus when i take the road trip, i don't need to cramp my stuffs into the small car . as for the power, who need much? is not like I'm in the racing zone. we're talking about Cali traffics. how fast can you really travel?

Monte Carlo SS. Had a 4x4 when I lived in the desert, loved it. Will be moving back to AZ next year.

Assuming both meet your needs in tems of carrying space, cargo, etc, I'd go for the one with the best mileage.
