This question is based on something I received in an internet newsletter called the Patriot Post.

In creating the oma, Mohammed and his followers forged an inextricable merger of politics and religion. To this day, there has never been a separation---a "Reformation" ---in Islam. This is due to the very nature of the oma, which must not only be defended militarily, politically and economically---but also expanded. Mohammed's efforts to reconstitute the basis of authority and organization in Arabia (from polytheism, more than one god to a political monotheism, one god, from cities and tribes to the oma) made Islam's expansionism a requirement of its followers.

How exactly can we free people of the world keep the islamists off our backs?

Islam, like other religions has its pacifists. The Sufis are a beautiful peace loving sect, but they are not in charge. Hate full, war-mongering jihadists are in the driver's seat at the moment. The center of their power lies in Tehran. Chop off the head and the body will die. If we kill off the mullahs and their sympathizers, the power vacuum my allow reformers to move in and civilize Islam once and for all.

Unfortunately only one way, kill em', I tried but I can't come up with another logical, objective, course of action untainted by false hope or some inherent bravado, that we can somehow work a miracle and change these peoples minds or just get them to leave us alone (not happenin') and anyone who thinks we can is in denial or is delusional and actually believes it. These are the same people who say we should talk to Iran, if Iran had even one iota of a desire to talk they've had almost 30 years to do so, they only want one thing ( an Islamic world, period, along with our destruction) Most people don't know this but, creating an Islamic world is part of the Iranian constitution and up until now they've been doing a great job.

What can free people do?

We can resolve to preserve our freedom wherever we live, realizing that there are few havens of freedom in the world, or even in the U.S.A., right now.

We can encourage people who would undermine freedom to move to any of the numerous authoritarian countries in the world, rather than turning the free places authoritarian, too.

And most importantly, we can demonstrate, by refusing to compromise our civil liberties, that freedom is the best manner in which any society can operate.

Then we can better integrate those (numerous!) peaceful and freedom-loving Muslims into our society, so they might serve as a buffer between free non-Muslims and fundamentalist Islamists.

Expansionism is also a basic tenant of Christianity. Everyone must hear the Word.

The lack of an ability to separate church and state is what's really dangerous, but then again, look what's happening in the U.S.

Use their own techniques against them.

Take out the governments, install proper Christian teachings in their schools, and punish anyone who deviates from that truth path.

We can deal with the religion of peace by blowing them to pieces.
Its our only hope.
