Answerinng from my own personal experience here, there are TONS of scams and "mail brochures" that depend on you working your tush off and getting a miniscule income if any.

Beware of "jobs" requiring bank account info. or to pay for the information packet to get started.

I currently work from home on a couple different programs and have learned the hard way about people who just want to use you. The two programs I can recommend with a clear conscious are listed in resources.

Check out http://www.wahm.com, especially the message boards. They have a lot of information.

Also, if you have strong administrative skills:

You might want to consider becoming a Virtual Assistant. In fact, there is a free 30-minute teleseminar on August 31, 2006 at 8:30 pm EST (regular long distance charges may apply if you don't have unlimited long distance for calls placed to the United States, but there is no charge for the teleseminar itself).

A Virtual Assistant provides administrative support to other entrepreneurs and small businesses. Since you own your own business, you know you are working for someone reputable (yourself!).

The seminar is called "Virtual Assistant Startup Strategies". There is no catch, no fine print, nothing you must buy-
just some helpful insight about becoming a Virtual Assistant from two established Virtual Assistants.

You can get information on how to register for free at the link below.

Create a web site and publish your knowledge. That is what I did.

You can build it at your own pace, just like I did. I have two children and wanted something "of my own" where I could make some extra money.

What am I talking about?

Creating your own web site. My site is about resume writing. I know a lot about it and I have worked in the field before (for years), so writing about it is almost second nature.

I'll list my web site below and if you want more information, click on the "My Passion" button on my site or click on the "Contact Us" button and ask me any questions you want.

Some people who have their own sites make a whole lot more than I do. I happen to have created a web site in a very competitive field. My next site will be more focused on a tighter niche as those tend to make a lot more money.

Anyway, it has worked for thousands of people and now it's working for me, too.

I'll include one other link so that you can read about other people's stories. One young lady started building her site when she was a teenager and has completely financed her way through college with just one web site.

My site won't do that anytime soon, but I like what I have built so far. :)

Good luck with whatever you choose to do.

Hey, I hope that this will help you out!

I work from home. I do not sell, stock, pick-up or deliver anything.
There is no paperwork, no record keeping, and no overhead.
All I do is set up wholesale accounts for a catalog company.
It is a business you can start for less than $30
This is a SOLID 20 year old, INC 500 company, with NO large investments, and NO RISK.
And if you are not satisfied, you get ALL your money back within 90 days.
This company is set apart from ALL other companies.
In two short years my mom, who is a stay at home mom, and home schools her kids,
is making VERY reliable, residual income.

Do you have any special skills that you can do? What are you good at? Be sure not to fall for those work at home scams or "Get paid for filling out survey's" which require you to pay a fee for nothing. I like the work at home jobs I've found on http://www.work-at-home-magazine.com

Best of luck.
