Yes its faith to believe that God does not exist. Its faith to believe we'll get up in the morning and the sun will rise again. Everyone has faith in something and uses that faith everyday. We couldn't go on with 'normal' life without faith. We have faith that if we work hard, at the end of the week the boss will hand over a paycheck. The reason we have faith in these things is because of past experience. Its happened before so it will probably happen again. We're creatures of faith.

A person who thinks there is no reason to believe in God has faith that he has the right attitude. He doesn't know this for a fact, but he believes it. Its a faith he accepts because so far he hasn't experienced what he thinks is God. And he also thinks no one else has either. Its a faith.

The problem with this thinking is that we don't have multiple lives to figure this out. The human life gives us the opportunity to find out what God is, what we are and what is our relationship with God. If we let this life go by without trying to understand this, what is the use of our life?

I don't believe in god because I've never seen any proof that he exists (and I was raised going to church every sunday). Were I shown good evidence for his existence, I would have to change my belief.

I have turned my atheism into agnosticism... I don't believe in God. I have had no tangible proof that "God" exists. I do think that there is something that connects us, but what that is I have no idea. When I have undoubtable proof that that thing exists, I'll believe in that, and if it's called "God" then...so be it.

I feel that when people say that they don't believe anything that that in itself is a belief. It's the belief of unbelieving. Hope that helps.
