Hon, if this was truely dangerous it wouldn't be recommended by every practicing midwife I've ever known. I would say that the majority of the mothers I know IRL have probably used EPO during at least one of their pregnancies.

If you want to take it, take it.
If you don't, then don't take it.
Stop stressing yourself out over it though, OK?

I have taken evening primrose oil during late pregnancy several times. At no time have I ever had abnormal bleeding or hemmoraging after giving birth. I have never heard of evening primrose oil causing or contributing to this situation.

Evening primrose oil (EPO) contains substances that your body uses to make prostaglandins. Your body normally makes prostaglandins anyways. Prostaglandins are also present in semen, and are part of the reason sex can help move your body towards labor. Several labor induction methods involve prostaglandins from artificial or animal sources.

Although some blood thinning has been associated with EPO, I do think it is as bad as other blood thinning herbs, such as Garlic, Ginkgo Biloba, White Williow bark ( Aspirin), vitamin E supplementation before the expected date.

If you are concern then just avoid them

if you have it in capsule form (like a vitamin E pill) you can open it and rub the oil on your cervix...less chance of it thinning your blood that way.
I took it, nothing happened.

Yes you should break it open and rub it on your cervix.
