I grew up in West County most of my life. I lived in Chesterfield. Nice place to live, but homes are getting pretty outragious on cost. You still can find a home or two not too expensive. Ballwin is Ok, if you don't mind traffic. Schools are good. If you had the money, Clayton is more mid town, but great place to live. A little more character, which always helps. Good places to eat, Very good schools. Look in the De Mund area. Awesome place to live. As far as West County goes, it's a pretty large area to consider. Best bet, if you have kids is just look into the schools in the area, then find a home you can afford near the one you like. Check out Realtor.com. Gives you the choices in a general area, or school district. And gives you info on the area and what schools are near by. Good Luck...

West county is nice and has the nice schools. You won't have any problem finding nice. It's mostly white and has the really expensive homes also! Best of luck on your move and hope you like it here!!

Ballwin and Manchester are both very nice, with good communities and reasonable prices.
