Yes R is Thursday. They did this because of Tuesday. Some classes are on Thursday and not Tuesday and they do not want you to be confused. It is probably easier to type than TH.

Yes. If they used T we'd all mix up Tuesday and Thursday.

My college uses R for Thursday, and I don't know what else it could mean on yours.
