Everyone is different, so for some people becoming sexually active might affect the monthly cycle. In general though, the day of ovulation and the date of menstruation aren't affected much by intercourse. For me personally, my cycles didn't change after I got married and became sexually active (well, until I got pregnant that is)! Times when my cycle became irregular were usually related to stress.

If you are interested in learning more about the amazing way your body and your cycle work, I highly recommend the book "Taking Charge of Your Fertility" by Toni Weschler. It is primarily intended to teach the "Fertility Awareness Method" for those who want to get pregnant or avoid pregnancy, but it is just a really useful resource for learning "What is going ON in there?"

Yes it can happen and to be totally honest you can also get pregnant the 1st time you have sex also . I can testify to that and that it can happen even if you use several types of Birth Control the right way . And for those of you out there who will say she couldn't have used it right or she wouldn't have gotten pregnant , sorry but a Doctor showed me and was just as surprised as I was when I got pregnant . And I had never had intercourse prior to that instance .

It doesn't happen to everybody.. but yes, the hormones that surface once you start having sex can cause cycle changes. Just like any other hormonal disruption

no. your monthly cycle's regularity is determined by your hormones (which, while mostly predetermiined, are affected by stress levels and such). it is not determined by sexual activity, whether for the first or nth time.

No really. It also depend on your body how i react! Did you have unprotect sex, if you did, this might happen. Due to the sperm, your system might change a bit. For most people, their period might delay due to that!
