If you're still in school (heck, as long as you don't have a dgree or training), all you can get is what I like to call a "crap job". Don't worry, it's okay. We all start out that way. Keep an eye on your local classifieds, and wander around places--restuarants, the mall, places you think you might like to work. Find someone who works there and ask if they're hiring. If they are, they'll probably give you an application. You can fill it out there or at home. When you hand in your application, ask to speak with a manager--this ups your odds of getting an interview. If there's not one there, either come back with it or call back to make sure the manager got it. If you hand one in and you don't hear back in about a week, call 'em up so they don't forget about ya.
Once you've got an interview, wear nice clothes. You probably don't need a suit for this type of job, but wear nice pants and a nice shirt. Good luck!

work for yourself... do lawn care...you can earn between 30 to 40 dollars per yard(average size yard)... that was standard in NC.
Get a book on self employment from the library or Barnes & Noble bookstore.
If you have a cell phone, then use it for business and you'll have all kinds of stuff to deduct from your taxes.

careerbuilder.com , or your local newspaper, i'm sure a you can get something for the weekends if you talk to someone in person, escpecially the foodservice industry...no! not mcdonalds, restaurants get hit during the weekend, and you can be an extra hand, plus you can eventually learn about managing, and working under the pressure, for future jobs.

Please people stop being idiots, he's only 17 and he wants to work, I commend him on that (My man 27 and he don't have a job and he's not looking for one). But anyway sign up for an employment agency (Temp service) in your area and they are pretty good with finding jobs for you that fits your criteria. You can also check out these websites.
