But baby has always been either very low or in middle/uppermiddle. nowadays across stomach. never felt alongwith ribs. i have all weight gain on belly alone. does it mean boy or girl? and is it normal not to have baby high ever in pregnancy..though shape of tummy is round high and all infront while baby inside is not.

For every time that I've been told that a woman who carries high is having a girl - I've had a boy. Not to mention all my boys had faster heartbeats than my girls! I never listen to old wives' tales, I have learned to always go by modern medical science, and find the facts that I can see with my own eyes.

The only way to tell gender of a child is either by ultrasound or genetic testing via CVS or amnio.

It is normal to have a baby that's high in every stage of pregnancy. Even the last trimester. Could be you have one that just likes to stretch out, than be all huddled up. I'm pregnant with twins, still carrying high, although my babies heads are down and ready to go. They are just longer, and like to stretch out a bit. And, I have a longer midsection than some women. It's all about how your body is shaped, and how your baby is laying. Don't worry about it.

If you haven't been able to find out the gender of your baby, and another ultrasound isn't in the imminent future - just be assured that you will know soon enough.

Just be glad you have a distinguishable belly! I've always been a little "fluffy" and so no one knew I was even pregnant unless I told them! (1 maternity dress - the rest was just a larger size of normal clothes) My son was head down from the 6th month, but my belly went from side to side! I gained 14 pounds, which I lost before I left the hospital. Just enjoy every second - it's over with so quickly!!! God bless!

Okay, there is this old believe that if you can tell a woman is pregnant from the back then she is having a girl and if you can't, if she totally doesn't look pregnant from the back, then she is having a boy. Going by that... it sounds like to me that you are having a BOY!! In my experience it's been about 75% correct. Good luck and have a nice healthy, happy baby! :)

You can not tell buy the belly size. I would go with the heart beat. If the heart beat is in the 140s to 150 it is a boy. If is 155 to 165 it is a girl.

My whole pregnancy everyone thought I was having a boy cause of how low my belly was. They were all wrong, I had a girl. I think everyones body is different, I dont know if you can really tell by that.

I to have a high belly low baby! But my little one did not want to advertise its gender during the sonogram, i guess i have to wait till its born! no matter what anyone tells you about old wifes tales theres only three ways to know 100% one way or the other have a amnio , sonogram, or wait till the babys born! good luck !!!!

Pretend to be having major abdominal pain that works it's way to the lower back & your Dr. will send you for an ultrasound & then you can find out the sex of the baby...no more guessing!
Good Luck & Congradulations.

I don't know my daughter sat real high. my mother in law said that my husband sat real high as well so I don't think you are able to tell the sex of the baby just by the way the sit.

If you are in your 8th month and you want to know the sex why not just have them tell you at the ultrasounds you have had?
