one thing I try to do when I get stressed is do something i really enjoy (like listening to music, or walking in middle of nowhere, etc). If you focus on something you actually want to do, you'll forget what you're stressing out about - and you might even enjoy doing whatever it is you've chosen to de-stress.

Other things like massage REALLY help; or if you live somewhere in the countryside go somewhere all on your own and SCREAM as loud as you can - get it all off your chest!

This very much depends on what is causing the stress in the first place. I find that much stress is caused by fear of the unknown and lack of order or control in particular situations e.g. death of a friend or relative, moving house, going through a separation, revising for exams.

Try and find out what the cause of your stress is and come up with an action plan to deal with it.

One way of dealing with the symptoms of stress is to talk about it with someone but this is not always the best option. I like to keep a diary of my innermost thoughts - I also like to exercise regularly and this helps build stamina and strength to deal with stressful situations. Make sure you stay healthy and eat well (e.g. take vitamin supplements if necessary).

If the stress is caused by a particular person e.g. your peers or even line-manager, try talking this through with his or her manager or if you work in a company or organisation, check if there is a confidant that you can discuss your problems with. Very often these things can be sorted out very quickly and amicably.

You may like to focus your mind outside of work and take up a new hobby - also, listening to relaxing music may help. This will help you concentrate and put things in perspective.

These are only suggestions, so any further information you are willing to provide about the situation, will help with a more suitable answer.

best way to deal with it never have it ! you see every one around you do what ever they one without even blinking so why don't you do so too ! that`s a one but you cant do it if your not raised by it :).
so best way to deal with stress is :
1- sleep enough and early coz as Long as your up your body keeps producing a Fremont called dobamen which is a hormone that activates the brain cells to keep working ( you thinking ) so as long as your up as long as it is still there so when you get some sleep it stops producing which means its level lessens which means you think a little less which gives you some relief. try to sleep for 8 hours at least and DON'T BE LATE.

2- you can do some exercises at home or go work out to let it out.

3 - try to go some where else for the weekend :) .

4- eat well not junk food and stuff like that just healthy food.

5- try to take stuff easy ! some stuff cant be changed leave them as they are and think about stuff that you can change :).

wishing you luck with it i know its hard but as it has been said only the first 100 years are hard then it gets easy :oD !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Try meditation, it really is good honest, I went through a really bad patch stress wise and it was the only thing that helped me, it costs nothing to buy or to learn, its easy and simple and very effective too, you just close your eyes and let your body relax from your head to your toes, try to do this in a quiet room or space, let yourself just drift off somewhere nice, think about a nice place you have good memories off or try to imagine yourself on a riverbank on a warm day and you have your toes in the cool water, there is no sound around you except peace and quiet, stay there for a least 10 minuets, open your eyes slowly and hopefully you will feel a bit more relaxed now, try to do it everyday for at least 10 minuets, OK it sounds crazy but honestly it does work.

Extricate yourself from the stress. Then go for a brisk walk, bike ride or any vigourous activity. Sometimes I watch a film or lsiten to music, or read a book. Breathing is good to. Focus on your breathing, feel its rhythm. Try and focus on the moment, close your eyes and try and catch your next thought as it arises. Try and separate yourself from your mind. I read a book recently that suggested that all of our problems are caused by our minds, our egos. The theory went that if we focus on the here and now and quit worrying about that which has gone, or is to come (neither of which we can change) then by switching our minds off, we can then find peace.

Good luck

I suffered Post Traumatic Stress disorder after losing my father in very bad circumstances. I had a very bad few months with the illness. I did not want to take medication but Bach Rescue Remedy is non addictive, and can be sprayed or dropped on to your tongue when you feel bad. It does work pretty well. Some doctors are good with things like stress....but some aren't! Try popping in to see your doctor if you are struggling. Very best wishes.

Talk about it

A counsellor is often the best. Sometimes your friends and family are too close to the situation and can be affected - my mum gets really upset if I am upset and so its hard to talk to her because she has an emoetional reaction to seeing her daughter upset. My BF is the same, he gets angry and won't discuss things because he can't bear to see me upset. But a cousellor, or someone else you like and trust but is not part of your family etc can be really helpful.

I'm pretty stressed at the moment, which is not good as I'm 25 weeks pregnant, but luckily the Head Midwife at my local hospital is lovely and says I can call her to chat whenever I want. Just talking things through wth her has helped me a lot.

Doing physical exertion, like exercise, jogging or cycling is the best way to deal with stress. It releases natural endorphins, which have opiate like therapeutic effects and no side-effects. Endorphins also have analgesic (pain-killer) and anesthetic effects. Thus by doing exercise you will feel happy, elated and stress-free. As Voltaire said, "Let's till the soil". Its a simple answer to all our troubling psychological and philosophical problems.

Count to ten. Take a warm bath. Chill out. Avoid the stressors or stress factors. Put on music to soothe the savage in you. Pray.
