Well, with this many miles on it, there are several things a car generaly may need, especially if it has not been done befor. A transmission flush and service, An alignment, tires, spark pluggs, as well as a possible cooling system check. It being so hot this summer, the a/c is working over time. All of this is not terribly exspensive, but is vital to the operation of a vehicle.

The answer to that is yes, other things wear out in your car. There is an optimum time to replace certain parts and it's up to you if you want to replace them at the manufacturer's recommended interval.

Admittedly, spark plugs, wires etc last longer, but they still eventually need to be replaced.

For your engine, the timing belt is one of the most important things that I definitely would recommend replacing at 71K. If the timing belt breaks you're going to be stranded on the side of the road and most manufacturer's recommed it being replaced every 5 years or 60K.

No, you can afford a Lexus so you can afford to pay for the damage when you timing belt breaks and your valves slam into your pistons. but then again what do engineers know ? just because they did all the math and went to collage they think they can predict that a piece of rubber will wear out... besides, they only probaly said that cause they wanted to mislead you...get a clue!

you need to check and see if you have a timing belt or not..itf so you need to have it changed between 60 and 80 thousand miles...but the only other things would be maintenance items..you manul should have a list of mileage and times when maintenance items should be taken care of

Yes you should take it to a service center in your area to be on the safe side. You have a very nice car and should take care of it.

In the owners manual there is a recommended maintenance schedule.
They do put that there for a reason.
