I have this on my website, down near the bottom, which is not seen unless you scroll way down.
"Praise God for everything.
The greatest commandment: "Love the Lord, your God..., and love one another as you love yourselves." - Jesus"
One of my customers wrote to complain: "offensive to find a Christian message on your web site" and "it's invasive to mix your personal religious beliefs with your business outreach.
When in the hell will you christian fundamentalists recognize we live in a pluralistic, separation of church and state and business country. And that many of us disdain this in-our-face proseletyzing. Christians or not."
Many of my clients are Christians and I am prone to saying "God bless you." even when someone doesn't sneeze. I do not think separation of church and business is something I have heard before. I am a Christian but know there are differing opinions.
What do you think?

I would NOT remove it! Let them complain! No harm in complaining and the Constitution gives us freedom of speech; My sister and I ran a store before we started doing something different and we had the Psalms 91 printed right up there on our Sign. Sure some people complained saying we were trying to push religion on them. But you know what? They actually came BACK to us and started asking "why" we had that on our sign... hence..that's when we ended up introducing God into their lives. The person that wrote "many of us disdain this in-our-face proselytizing...." sounds like someone that's really been given a lot of lectures on God. That's not what this person needs. Don't comment back and go into preaching to this person. Simply let it go and keep your site up as it is. I went to your site and I see NOTHING wrong with it. So let them complain! This is the United States of America FOUNDED as ONE NATION UNDER GOD.. so there.....they don't like it, too bad.
KEEP IT UP! :)

I think there are several things that are happening here.
#1 your customer was rude and aggressive and that was a really bad way for them to state their complaint.
#2 I looked at the website, and I do not find what you put up there about god to be either Offensive or "in your face" - (On this point I will say I am also not a christian follower)
The thing that you have to consider is - how important is it to you that people know your personal beleifs? Are you willing to withstand abuse, and possibly lost business because of mixing religion and business? I think having that at the bottom of the page could make people uneasy because they are not sure if they will have a Christian vigilanty show up to fix their computer. (not saying that you are one :D) however, some people are exceptionally sensitive to any level of religious message - this could be where you could lose business.
On the other hand - if your business is not suffering because of this (or atleast not suffering to a point where it bothers you) - then I don't see any reason to change it. It is non-obtrusive and non aggressive. In that case it comes down to what it means to you to have that on there - how important it is - and what you are willing to endure to put that message out there.
best of luck in your business!

I'm sure many people don't have a problem with you putting it down at the bottom. You've been in business how long? You've had how many complaints? It's a personal choice whether or not you keep it. Do you want any and all business? Not having it on there may net you a few more customers, but it probably won't be that many.

I personally would. Unless your target audience is the Christian community than yes it is offensive to your non-christian customers. Even saying God bless you is offensive to people who don't believe in your religion. Lets be honest what does God and church have to do with computers? As a business person you need to cater to all your customers and by putting quotes from the bible you are alienating your non christian customers.
How would you feel if you walked into your local grocery store or gas station and they have muslim sayings hanging up somewhere?

I would have to say that since you believe in Jesus then you co-own your biz with him and with that thought ,....there should be no question as to whether his name should be on there,....and if you are having worries of there being a slim supply of client/customers due to the name of Jesus and some verses then i think that you might need to rethink of Jesus's role here in the universe as co-creator with God......Jesus is abundance and prosperity if you only believe. God bless you and I am very happy to see you representing our savior!

Unless your name is Jesus, it's best to remove it from the website; it does put many people off. However, a verbal "God bless you" should not be considered offensive.

I think it would be a bad business idea to put that. I've actually went to the competition even though I paied a higher price because of their religious connotations in their advertising. It says to people: My religion is right and screw everyone who doesn't believe in it.

I would keep what you said on there.
What's so invasive or offensive about it? Should I call the cops on every Morman or Jahova's Witness that comes to my door, too? No!
It's your site, put whatever you want on it. It's good what you're doing. How will other people learn about our Lord and Savior, if nobody says anything about it.

I didn't see anything wrong with it. You were not pushing anything down anyones throat. You were not saying they will rot in hell if they didn't buy from you. If people get offended by that....you don't need their business. Take a stand and don't let anybody dictate to you.
