Put the mouse pointer down as low as you can and when it turns to an arrow, click down and raise it up. Your startm button and all the icons should become visible. Or hit the windows button on your keyboard - on the left bottom row between Ctrl and Alt.

Just pay a technician to turn on your machine, and from then on use the plug.
You might loose some information, a hard drive, or some other hardware along the way, but what the heck.
A small price to pay for another light source on your desk.

If this is a serious question, you may have hidden the system toolbar.
Try hitting he "ctrl" key and the "Esc" at the same time
this should bring up the menu bar.
Click on "turn off computer" and restart the system bar may comeback on it's own.
If not try dragging your mouse pointer around the screen. If it seems to grab something off the screen. Drag the pointer to the bottom of the screen while still holding the button down.
I hope this helps..

ok a sensible answer
firstly restart your computer in safe mode - restart your computer and keep on tapping either the f5 key or f8 and select the safe mode option

does your start button appear

if not try this - but very careful with the typing and follow the instructions completely other wise you will screw your registry up

Press CTRL+ALT+DEL, and then click Task Manager.

In Task Manager, click File, click New Task (Run).

In the Open box, type regedit, and then click OK.

In Registry Editor, locate and then click the following registry subkey:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Services\RpcSs

In the right pane, right-click ObjectName, and then click Modify.

In the Value data box, type LocalSystem, and then click OK.

Make sure the LocalSystem is typed like this exactly

Now click on file and exit

now restart your computer

this should bring your start button back if you have followed the instructions correctly
