cysts on the ovaries, more then likely they try other things first. But I had the miracle surgery, the hysterectomy, and since I have a boy and a girl I am done, so no more periods thank the gods. But I haven't heard of to many get one done for a cyst. They'll try to remove it first just the cyst and then if it effects the ovary They can remove the ovary. I had a two pound tumor it was like being 18 wks pregnant. But if I had to do it again I would have gotten the hyster. alot earlier. LOVE IT... well good luck and hopefully you already had kids and if not just talk to your Dr. they are really good about options for you to get pregnant first. well anyways good luck. mine where fibordial too!

Since you are young, you can have a procedure that can remove the cysts. Hysterectomies are a last resort. If the cysts turn out to be other problems (such as cancer) or they keep recurring at a massive rate, then a hysterectomy will be considered as an option. Like I said, a hysterectomy is a LAST resort.

well it depends on the type of cysts that you have, i have fibrodial ovarian cysts and they want to do a hysterectomy on me, when i frist found out i was 26, i have not had it done as of yet simply because i dont have health insurance and i cant afford to take off of work. no money to support kids if i do. but if the cysts are of the cancerous type i would say its better to have it done, for your health, but talk to your ob/gyn or family Dr. first about it and see what other options you have first, get a second opinion if you must.

pretty slim. Cysts on ovaries is a very common thing. Usually you have to have trouble with your uterus to have a hyst.

Please read "The Hysterectomy Hoax" before you make a decision like that. it's totally not necessary because you have several other choices. (non-surgical).

It can be ordered from a bookstore if they don't have it or is available at your local library, or from Amazon.com..
