There are two women racing full-time in Nascar. Erin Crocker #98 and Kelly Sutton #02. Deborah Renshaw does not currently have a full-time ride in Nascar. There are a few more women who race every so often, but only two with fulltime rides.

The leading candidates are Erin Crocker and Sarah Fisher, both 24. Another to watch is Allison Duncan, 26. Fisher took Richard Childress up on an offer to drive in RCR's developmental program and is competing in the NASCAR Grand National Division West Series. She says hooking up with a first-class organization is just one small step toward breaking into NASCAR.

There is a long list of woman who have driven in NASCAR.

Look at this article from USA today back in July 2004. It tells how the sport is changing and how women are being fans now. Where there are women fans there will be women drivers. I have been a fan all my life, long before it was fashionable for "girls" to be into racing.

Erin Crocker is a young female driver working her way up through the ranks in nascar. She currently drives is ARCA, TRUCK and BUSCH series races. She has not yet worked her way up to the nascar cup series races yet, but it is certainly intended for her to reach that level. Also there is a history of females racing in nascar cup series, and in fact the last woman to do so died recently.
