We're looking into trying to have our second child, but the town I'm living in doesn't have a hospital that delivers babies. (Yeah.. it's small.. you have no idea). Is it possible to be induced by request? I was induced the last time I was pregnant, and it went fine. The closest town I'd feel safe having a child in (that has a NICU) is 90 miles away.

It depends on the Doctor.

Some will induce you if you are on or over your due date.

You can request anything you'd like that doesn't mean you will get it. Under normal conditions most doctors won't induce you unless you are full term, usually 39 weeks, and your cervix is ripe. Inducing while the conditions are not right can be detrimental to you and the baby. Labor often will not progress and a c-section may become necessary. It is best to let nature take it's course. As far as your situation with your town, I am sure there is another solution that you have not considered yet. Speak with your doctor, I am sure he or she has answers for you.

They normally wont induce unless your at risk of something. I work at a hositpal. So they have found that alot of inducing can bring problems such as underdeveloped lungs. Your better off waiting for the baby sake. Hang in there. I was feeling the same way when I was pregnant and I had her on my due date.

Good Luck!

you could ask your well being practitioner or yet another scientific expert. the only way your record isn't inducing you using fact they think of it somewhat is secure to leave the toddler in some extra days or a pair extra weeks even tho your going via lots discomfort, it somewhat is part of having toddlers. My mom became in hard artwork for me for 4 days and than they finally broke her water. in the event that they think of it somewhat is severe sufficient they'll bring about you. you may basically be having the pretend contractions, lay in a warm heat tub it makes it experience alot extra useful. i are conscious of it somewhat is painful yet draw close in there. I wouldnt be too apprehensive stunning now until you're leaking the toddler's fluid. they might finally end up providing you with a c-section in the experience that your toddler's coronary heart save's dropping. each and every being pregnant is distinctive. I had a chum circulate 6 days over her due date peeing out the babys after delivery, they waited to bring about her. Im additionally pregnant stunning now, im 22 weeks.

i just had a baby and was induced. most doctors will wait until you're 38 weeks just to minimize any risk of the baby coming too early, but i'm sure you won't have a problem b/c of your situation.

You can ask, but most good doctors won't do it. You have a good reason so they might.

My induction was horrible, didn't work and I wond up with a C-Section after 29 hours of back labor.

My sister-in-laws was easy and fine.

You should certainly discuss it with your doctor. You can't be the only one in your town that has been in this situation. He could tell you what other Moms have done.

I don't believe they will unless the child has a medical condition that needs attention!
