Men supervisors are better coz they have less mood swings. Not everyone though but yeah, better than women coz we could take things personally.

If you're a man, it's easier to work for a woman.
If you're a woman, it's easier to work for a man.

It has to do with the psychological differences between the sexes.

Men tend to be more in your face oriented, confrontational, view coworkers with suspicion and get threatened by excessively successful underlings. Men are more likely to want to get into the "ole boys club" and hang their hat on who they know.

Women are influencers. They take most BS with a grain of salt and focus on results. Most women are happy to hire folks that are smarter than them and may outproduce htem - because it's a cooperative effort, right? The only negative with women is if you really PO them, you might as well look for another job because they will never forget.

Both men and women supervisors are great when they're fair and reasonable. They are both awful when they let people get away with murder.

Male supervisors are sometimes egotistical and arrogant, and overly demanding. Female supervisors are sometimes overly emotional and can let problems at home influence their decisions at work.

The male supervisors I've had tend to be more personable and joke around. The woman supervisors I've had seem more strict and don't get too friendly until you show true respect for them.

Men see the larger picture and are not hung up on details. Women are nit-pickers and lose sight of the larger picture. If there is a difference of opinion, men get over it right away. Women remember forever!! These are gross generalizations, of course.

men can be more harsh and insensitive, there is a level of distance because of gender difference between the men boss and me, women are more of a perfectionist and are more micro managing, however can accomplish more productive wise, and can be really cool sometimes. I definately prefer a woman over me than a man.

I feel that woman supervisors are worse. They feel they have something to prove...although I have worked for some real male jerks too. All in all I found in my experience the males are easier...and no Im not a man:o)

Differences are what the Super brings to the Job.

I've had both types, some are great others not so great.

The worst one? A male (I'm a male). *He* thought I was making a play for his Sec (female). She denied it in a hearing, but I transferred out (at *his* request) shortly before leaving the Company.

I've worked for both and the men seemed to be easier to work with. The females seemed to let authority go to their heads rather quickly and it wasn't pretty to watch!

Women supervisors will let you get away with stuff if you flirt with them.
