Yes, if you did not have a permit to carry. If you were prosecuted and had to stand trial, no jury would convict you - if it ever got that far. The prosecuting attorney might not be able to find 12 jurors willing to convict.

Unfortunately, yes, you would probably be charged.
But there is nothing malum in se about carrying a handgun, and there is no injured party. So the prosecutor would have a hard time getting a jury to convict you. The most important thing in a trial like this would be to get an informed jury that knows the law. The jury has the right to decide the facts AND THE LAW. But the judge won't tell them that unless you force his hand.
I'm only 17 yet I carry a concealed pistol quite often. I wouldn't hesitate to use it if the situation demanded it. As for myself, I would rather be convicted by a judge for illegal possession of a firearm than to be convicted by my conscience because I let someone get murdered. I fear God more than man.
Sincerely, Zach Doty

If you have a permit to carry a concealed weapon than no. But if you are carrying concealed and you don't have a permit than yes I would imagine you would get busted for it.

The gun is no longer concealed once you pull it out to fire it. You might get away with it if you don't re-conceal the handgun after you kill the perp.

Probably, but they make consider extenuating circumstances. Try only to wound him...the law takes a dim look at people taking the law into their own hands. Why do you think they are protecting that perv in Colorado now, because they like him??
Most criminals do not like ilk who hurt or overly enjoy children too much. Remember what they did in prison to J Dahmer?

they may just charge you until the complete investigation is complete and then they will make a decision if they will proceed with the charges.

in this messed up world, yeah, you probably could... it depends on where you live though.. if you lived here in Tennessee, like I do... the officer would probably just look straight at you and say "I didn't see that, move along."
