Interest rates or what will the fed do? What rates? 10 yr? 30 yr?
First. Fed could potentially raise rates, though unlikely. If so expect no more than 25 bp and odds are slim to none.
As to interest rates, rates already on bonds and futures have already begun to move down in anticipation of the fed lowering rates late this year/next year. Internationally, inflation appears to be peaking which also puts downward pressure on our rates.
You are unlikely to see the 30 yr move much, but will see more movement in the short-term rates to 10 yr.

Interest rates may stay the same for some time, while the Fed analyse the data and decide on the course of action to do.

Just hope they have wisdom to do the right thing. They affect the economies of almost every part of the world.

WE are all in a slump right now. What with the Iraq war. Interest rates had already gone up. The market is soft. There are a lot of houses for sale and nothing is moving.

The business cycle follows the following pattern:

Expansion->Peak -> Contraction -> Trough -> Expansion -> Peak, etc.


We're currently still expanding from the 2001 recession.


For your second: I think we'll see a couple of more hikes during this growth cycle to keep inflation to a moderate level.

Its never been better! We're doing so good we outsource jobs, allow illegals to come over the border, and invade other countries to incorporate them into our belief system. I look forward to next year.
