I have an opportunity to travel to Europe for 6 weeks on a rock concert tour as a writer/videographer. All expenses are paid plus a measely $500 a week pay. If I go, I have to quit my square job and leave my girlfriend who is new to this country (and who cannot drive). One of the bands is famous.

By the way, she cannot go because the people allowed to go are few and numbered.

Yes, go! Ihave been there, no details and I am serious! The Gf thing is a toughy...but a little seperation anxiety is good, it brings out oines TRUE nature...Yes I also experinced that. She will be fine if you are consistent with phone calls and she can practice English by tape while you are away....(think) Communication, paramount.!!!!!!!
The ONLY problem I see is that you have NOT offically submitted an official L.O.A. from Your job, to chase your dream.
Yoou will regret this for the rest of your life if you do not go. Most never get a second chance baby. NOW..listen up....you will be the biggest loser if you do NOT go.
Look I donot have all of the answers, but I have done and seen a lot. At the verty least you have a passion for somethings. I do not.
You go and Pack the bag, or never bring it up again.

Go on the trip. You may not get another chance like this... Seeing Europe on someone else's dime is the way to go. Your food, shelter and transportation is covered. It is just 6 weeks. I am sure your girlfriend would do the same thing if given the opportunity. I also think she could find someone to drive her around or use public transportation.

My husband and I spent 18 months apart while we were dating because of great opportunities like this. We visited each other and stayed to together. It made us stronger as a couple. (We did remain loyal and exlcusive to each other too.)

ooh, thats tough. it would be amazing to go to the concert and everything, cuz who knows if you'll ever get that opportunity again. but you have responsibilities at home. however, if you can get someone to help your girlfriend by driving her places when you're gone, and can guarantee another well paying job when you get back, then i think you should definately go. it just sounds like an awesome expirience.
by the way, what bands are going to be there?

It's only 6 weeks!
She will understand! You can get another job!
But, when will you get another opportunity like that?!?!?!?

If you really want it! Go for it!

Have a wise choose!
