I suppose you mean to compare Dell and HP, since HP bought Compaq. The brand doesn't matter. It matters who makes the components. Check it out.

They work equally as well. My wife has a Compaq Z7000 series laptop and I have a Dell XPS laptop.
We both have the same level of wireless strength where ever we go in the house.
If you can't decide which to buy, the wireless capabilities won't be the discriminator, they are equal.

"Donny Spy" is Right with components like cd drives, Wireless and any thing else that's much slower running than than the Modern laptop's chipset, IT'S WHO MAKES THE Component.
rarely will the drand of the computer also be the same maker of the wifi component. You need to look at the detailed specs section of the model's that you like on both the brand's sites and send them an email on The site there(Cause for that component the maker wont usually be listed) they usually get back to you pretty quick with the info you want ...
Like a new car Salesman. (Then Do Reaserch specs on the maker of the WiFi's Site.)
