I'm sorry but I think the Red Sox are the most exciting team in baseball. Forget the Yankees-Red Sox Rivalry for a moment.
There's always something going on with the Red Sox.
Either it is Manny being Manny, or Doug Mienkievich (not the correct spelling) fighting the owners for the World Series ball, or Theo Epstein quitting the GM position and wearing the Gorrilla suit on Halloween to avoid the media.
What about the Curt Schilling Vs. Pedro Martinez drama, or Manny not wanting to go to the All-Star Game. Then lets go way back, Billy Buckner ball through the legs incident, then there is Ted Williams having his head frozen in that place in Arizona, by his son. Then there is Nomar Gaciaparra, the star-player being cut by the team in the middle of a playoff race. And remember Grady Little, not pulling Pedro out in the 2003 ALCS.
And Red Sox fans are all crazy people that think they can do a better job in managing the team. I mean this in a good way, because I know thay are the most passionate baseball fans you will ever find. I mean they hadn't won a Title since 1918, but they manage to sell out Fenway park year in and year out at ridiculous prices and get their heart shattered over and over and over and over again.
The Red Sox simply put is the most exciting and craziest baseball team/fans you will ever find in the whole of sports, not just baseball.
Now getting back to the Red Sox/ Yankees. The Yankees have 26 World Series Rings, and the Red Sox have only 2 since 1918. On paper, this is not even a rivalry. I mean, the Yankees have no reason to even give a damn about the Sox. But Red Sox nation created the rivalry, they made the Yankees know that they hated them so much and will do anything to beat them. They made the whole competition between them real. And the Red Sox created the terms " Evil Empire" (I know it is from Star Trek, but Larry Luchino was the one that first used it on the Yankees) and Yankees Suck!".
And the Yankees can use the phrase Boston Massacre, Curse of the Bambino, against the Red Sox. The truth is that Red SoX nation coined those phrases to keep the game exciting.

AL Central without a doubt. The East coast Sports Propaganda Network hyped the Red Sox up so much, there was no possible way they could match the expectations. Both teams pitching staff stink, and come postseason time that will be their demise. The Mets have no real competition except the Cardinals, and they are above average at best.
When on, the 3 teams in the AL Central have the best pitching staffs in the American League.

Well in all seriousness...teams that had doubts but are surprising everybody are the most exciting. The Mets are my favorite team and have been for years so I must include them, especially because they are the best team in the NL this year. However, hands down the AL Central is the most exciting. Detriot, Chi Sox, and the Twins are all relatively small franchises compared to the Yanks, Bo Sox and Mets (salary wise) and they are probably dollar for dollar the best teams in the game. I would love to see the Twins surprise everyone and win the league because we all remember their contraction fate 5 years ago.
I personally am starting to get tired of Yanks Bo Sox, especially the freakin Red Sox fans that always think their damn franchise is so damn special. One championship in 80 years in not something to be so proud of.

Although I'm a Yankees fan, the most exciting teams are probably the Mets and Tigers since nobody thought either of them would be as good as they are this year.

THE MOST EXCITING BASEBALL IS THE CENTRAL DETROIT.SOX AND TWINS.THE YANKEES REALLY HAVENT PLAYED ANY ONE LATELY U CAN SAY WOW THEIR A GOOD TEAM. THE RED SOX ARE ON A COLD STREAK THE WHITE SOX.TIGERS HAVE BEEN THROUGH IT. TOO MUCH ATTENTION ON THE YANKEES DONT SEE THEM WINNING AT ALL THE WORLD SERIES. THEY GOT THE BEST TEAM IN BASEBALL PLAYER WISE ,BUT THE TIGERS HAVE THE BEST TALENT AND IM A WSOX FAN. I THINK THEYRE THE WSOX OF LAST YEAR. WHAT THE RED SOX ARE NOT CURSED OF ANYTHING MAN YOUR CRAZY LOOK AT THE CUBS SEE HOW MANY TIMES THEY HAVE BEEN TO THE PLAYOFFS,HOW MANY SERIES THEY WON HOW CLOSE THEY HAVE GOTTEN TO GO THE PLAYOFFS AND CHOKED. COMPARED THEM TO THE BSOX AND U WILL BE SURPRISED HOW MUCH BAD LUCK THE CUBS HAVE.

The Yankees have become unbeatable with Abrieu. They have the craziest lineup ever amassed, and Matsui and Sheffield are coming back soon. Its insane.
