I hate to tell you that you will have to pay for your own repairs , plus the ones for the car in front of you and he will have to pay for the car he hit in th rear and he will also have to pay for part of his own repairs for hitting the car in front of him . That is the way the law goes in most States in the U.S.A. Unless of course you have an Officer for a witness or enough people that will go to Court as witnesses or you have pictures of the light being green at the time . Or there is a Camera in the Light itself or a Security Camera around the Intersection that could help you . My advice is to check into everything that will help you prove you weren't at fault . Remember though that if they find you were following to closely for weather conditions then you will be at fault and the Law will take it from there is all I can tell you . Good Luck !!

In my state, if you hit the car in front of you, it is your fault. You should have kept a safe stopping distance. It doesn't matter if the driver of the car in front of you hit another car. What matters is what happened between you and the car in front of you.

The guy that hit you is at fault for hitting you, you are at fault for hitting the guy in front of you. The green light is irrelevant.

well it should be that way but it don't work that way..... for instance.. my mom got in to a 10 car pile up kinda like that...... it was foggy and she couldn't see the other 9 cars in front of her who were already stopped in the road cuz they had hit the car in front of them.... well guess what..... since my mom was the very last car to hit the long line of cars when it all boiled down in the insurance dept... my mom got sued by each and everyone of those cars cuz she was the last one to hit... STUPID i know but that how it worked out for her

No..sorry. You are at fault for striking a vehicle in front of you. You should be in total control of your vehicle at all times. (Driving to close or speeding..)
