I recently stopped breastfeeding after 6 months. He kinda weaned himself over the past month, so my breast milk went down little by little. I'm finding that whenever someone or something bumps into my boobs that they really really hurt! They don't hurt until someone bumps into them. I'm not at all engorged. I doubt I have mastasis or an infection. Did your breasts hurt after you stopped breastfeeding? If not, any ideas?

Mine did not. I did what you did and weaned my daughter very slowly. Sometimes there wll be a spot that's a little sensitive though.

oh my god. i remember when i was forced to wean my son at 6 months. i had a fever and he refused to nurse from me. my body heat was to high for him and my milk must have turned bad. anyway, it hurt so bad so what i did was bind my breast. i took ace bandage and wrapped around me very tight. also, do not let water from the shower run on your breast, it will only stemulate them to keep producing.keep the bandage wrapper on as much as possible. it will take a few days, even a week maybe, but it will help alot with the pain!

Yes. Sometimes you will continue to produce a large amount of milk, you can either pump it or ask Dr. for pill to dry you up.

Eventually the tenderness and soreness will ease... It is just a waiting game depending on the person. Good luck to you.

No, they didn't hurt at all. I guess it's different for everyone.
