I'm with you! But why stop there? Do you realize how many cotton plants die each year for our clothing? Just think of all the tomatoes, corn, asparagus, wheat and various other plants people consume as food. IT'S DISGUSTING! People need to be carnivores!
Now...someone ask something about the poor cows.

Well, sometimes. Most of the trees used are planted just for that purpose. Furniture from endangered and/or rainforest trees are more of a problem. But paper can also be made from recycled paper and hemp. That would be a lot better!

No. We can seriously limit the amount of paper we use by using more electronic files, but EVERYTHING can't really be electronic for several reasons - like you'd always need to have an electronic device with you to look at notes and not everyone wants that; you'd have no back up when devices got fried; contracts must be signed on paper; many people really need paper copies to read / take notes / comprehend at the right level.

Actually, thats how computers were made to seem like a good thing, store your information on a chip, not on paper. But then hackers were invented, and trees have suffered since.

no. no and no. trees can be -- re.planted if creative measures are taken -- cutting off trees sometimes is a necessity...trees need breathing spaces..etc...i think you over-simplified a huge concern...and not necesserily an unsolvable problem. the industry and the environmentalist can at times..agree on one solution. paper is a very important product of our civilization..books, knowledge etc..would not have been possible for the masses...if not for "paper"...

No. We need paper. We should just plant more trees to replace the ones we cut down.

We need paper...and they have tree farms that are grown and harvested specially for it. Everything in this world serves a purpose, we all live off one another...even down to the plants.
