We are going on a honeymoon and would like to know about the resort and the weather in september. Also can you use an american credit card there?

We were there last Feb. It was VERY nice. We had our own "apartment" it is a house with 4 other apartments, you all share a private pool. It had a kitchen, seperate bedroom, patio, and livingroom. This was on the manor side if I remember right. You have to go to the "main building" to get a bus to go down to the beach. There are buses every 5 min or so. Never a long wait. It used to be 2 resorts (beaches and sandals) now it is 1. We had a good time. There is tons of nightlife. There were about 6 bars scattered around. The pools on the back side were wonderful but we never went in them since we went to the beach. There were alot of weddings going on when we were there. You can use an AMerican Credit card there, but I would definetly bring cash. Lots of 1, 5 and 10's. You can haggle if you see something you want on the outside of the resort. The only downfall of this place was, it is about 10 min from downtown Ocho Rios, so you need to hire a cab to go into town. DO NOT pay over $10 if that to go. HAGGLE! The weather in Sept. is dicey. It is always around 85 in Jamaica. It is either going to be nice, or hurricane. June-Nov. is hurricane season. You should be ok. If it does rain, it rains for 15 minutes then it is over and sunny again. If this is your first trip to JA do not be afriad when people ask you to buy pot from them. Just say no thanks and they will respect you. Jamaica is a nice country, we are going in Dec. for our 3rd trip in 2 years. If you give respect you will get respect and don't be afraid to leave the reesort. That is the only way you will see the REAL Jamaica! Have fun and good luck!

I was in Jamaica last month but not at that resort. It was only 10 miles or so from Ocho Rios, though. You can definitely use an American credit card there. You can also use US cash. It is recommended that you take some small bills to use for tipping. September is hurricane season and booking to the Caribbean is a gamble during that season.
Also, check out a website. TripAdvisor.com is an amazing resource. There is a ton of information there. Type in the name of the resort in the search area and you will get reviews of the resort by previous visitors. Also check out the forum section. That is a place for questions and answers. Congrats on your marriage and hopefully your honeymoon will be perfect.

yeah sandals in nice and classy,and september is hurricane season so it will be rainy,yes you can use any major credit card but not every where take discovery and american express cards good luck hope you have a safe trip
