Most of the nerds play horde, and the 12 year olds play alliance.

Honestly a lot of the Horde's racial abilities are made for crowd control which is essencial for PvP and the Battle grounds. The Alliance lacks them. Because of this an average group of Horde can beat a good group of Alliance in the battle grounds.
Personally I have found the Alliance will win a lot more in one on one fights outsdie fo the battlegrounds.

alliance doesn't suck but it's not good either. most new players choose alliance without knowing about bonuses for skills but i'm guessing your just not strong enuf yet or u sux.
