We all sacrifice in some way. The question is "WHY"?...

Are we hoping for a better tomorrow or has yesterday been so terrifying?

I don’t live life based on fears or hope. I know everything that happens in life happens for a purpose. Good or bad, everything in my life has taught me a lesson and completes the person that I am.

I trust in God and know that while I may be going through the lows he is with me and he is building inner strength and courage in me. The highs are always nice, but life would get boring if we didn’t have any challenges.

I do use yesterday’s pain, specifically my childhood, to guide me today. I raise my children based on what I learned from the pain I lived as a child. I do hope for a better future for my children and their children. But, nothing pushes me forward through life but the knowledge that it is all for a better purpose and I am living his will. Whatever his will, let it be done.

Great question.

I don't think you can have one without the other: it's the old "those who do not know their history are doomed to repeat it."

For me personally, it is the future. I believe that each and every one of us has something valuable and important to contribute to the world, and that's exciting.

Some people may need a little help realizing that. My significant contribution might be helping someone else realize theirs - and that one person I help might be the one who goes on to cure cancer, or become a brilliant foreign policy leader...

But I don't think we can see that hope or that bright future, or that we can properly have a vision of what that "better place" might be if we don't remember where we came from...

What drives me forward is the fear of repeating my past. My childhood sucked and we were dirt poor and I never, ever want to live life like that ever again. I try make better choices than my parents and I know that I will succeed in my goals.

for me, fears of the past helped me a lot more to the kind of person of who i am right now though it's connected to our hopes for our future. in life situations, before we tend to wake-up or realize what reality or life itself really is, we need to experience challenges in life for us to realize our (human) main purpose here in this world we live in. for me, who we are is a result of all d choices we have made over a lifetime. just like a painting, in which is composed of individual brush strokes. in every decision has made us more alone or loved, angry or happy, weak or strong. In our infancy, other people applied those strokes to d canvas of our lives, but with time, we increasingly took d brush into our own hands. From all those choices, we've created a canvas with a unique color, which includes our personality & style, our needs & fears, & even our getting & protecting behaviors...

My fears of the past make me work harder, and now I have hope for the future.

Because it's time I grew up and made something of myself while I'm alive.

I think it's a little of both for most people. everyone has faile din some way or another but you can either learn from failure and bring hope out of the situation or you can see nothing but failure in front of you

I read once about love being the biggest motivator and I love that.

I am instantly able to work through any hindrances when I'm doing my work because I lov e to do it, or doing something for someone I love, ect. . .

And --I'm happier living this way than the other so. . .
